New connection across the Neckar valley
Milestone for the region
The foundation stone for the Neckar Valley Bridge in Horb was laid in April 2023. It is a milestone
for the region and will improve the quality of life in the future. Less through traffic and a redesign of the thoroughfare mean both noise and pollution relief for Horb. The opening to traffic is planned for the end of 2026. The up to 92-metre high and 667-metre long bridge over the Neckar valley also means a visual change for Horb and the region. With relatively low, outwardly inclined pylons and a comparatively slender superstructure held by relatively flat stay cables, it will blend in well with the landscape.
The reinforcing steel for the bridge project is being supplied by the SÜLZLE Stahlpartner site in Dornstetten with support from Rosenfeld, Dußlingen and Pforzheim. On behalf of PORR GmbH & Co. KGaA, from February 2023 to the end of 2026, around 4,700 tonnes of reinforcing steel
and 36,500 bolted connections will roll onto the construction site.
