SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supplies Bonatzbau
Fit for the next century
The Bonatzbau is the historic reception building of Stuttgart Central Station. The entrance building of Stuttgart’s main station, which is more than 100 years old and a listed building, is currently undergoing fundamental modernization. In the process, the exterior of the Bonatz Building, which is characteristic of the cityscape, will be preserved. Inside, the reception building is being redesigned to meet today’s requirements for a train station. A house-in-house construction will make the building fit for the future.
For the extensive refurbishment, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner’s Dußlingen branch is supplying around 3,600 tons of reinforcing steel to Stuttgart by the end of 2024 on behalf of Ed. Züblin AG. The full commissioning of the modernized Bonatz Building is scheduled to coincide with the start-up of the Stuttgart 21 project in 2025. The future ground-level entrance to the reception building will allow easy access to the tracks of the new platform hall currently being built as part of Stuttgart 21.
