Munich project “DER bogen” connects
Climate-friendly construction with CO2-neutral round steel
In Munich, an ensemble of buildings with high architectural and urban planning standards is being built, including versatile office space, courtyards, retail and gastronomy, thus linking the present with new living and working environments. Production areas that are no longer needed are replaced by a modern technology campus that combines digital competence and real workplace worlds.
With a total area of around 42,000 m², “DER bogen” thus creates added value for an entire neighborhood. The outer abstract appearance emphasizes the differentiation of two interlocking building parts, which are divided by bronze and brass colored facade elements. With up to 8 stories, the structure also provides about 400 underground parking spaces and 300 bicycle parking spaces. In addition, the builders place a special emphasis on the topics of energy efficiency as well as ecology and are striving for the DGNB certification GOLD of the German Sustainable Building Council.
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner was commissioned by Gustav Epple Bauunternehmung GmbH to supply 6,800 tons of “CO2 – neutralized steel round steel” and 10 tons of storage mats. In order to offset previously unavoidable CO2 emissions from steel, the Munich-based construction company purchased high-quality climate protection certificates from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner to compensate and had its support of global projects and the associated climate neutrality for the purchased CO2-neutral reinforcing steel certified by certificate. The construction site is supplied by the SÜLZLE Stahlpartner locations in Denkendorf, Aichach, Dusslingen and Rosenfeld. The shell is expected to be completed in June 2023.
