Busiest Internet node in the world
Reinforcing steel for new data centre in Frankfurt-Raunheim
Traffic flows into Frankfurt from all directions. However, we are not talking about the airport, but the largest internet hub in the world. Operators build data centres where their customers have needs and IT requirements. Vantage Data Centers, a global leader in the development of hyperscale data centres, is therefore opening up additional locations in the Frankfurt area. Strategically located southwest of Frankfurt between Rüsselsheim and Hattersheim, the new FRA2 data centre in Raunheim is just a short 10-kilometre drive from Frankfurt International Airport. As with all Vantage data centres, the focus is on reliability, sustainability and environmental responsibility.
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner’s Dornstetten branch supplied around 850 tonnes of reinforcing steel for the floor slab of the new data centre alone, on behalf of Source Civil Engineering Ltd. from Ireland. Another 450 tonnes will follow in the next few months for the building construction. The first five-storey building is scheduled for completion in autumn 2022.
