SUSTAINABLE REINFORCEMENT STEEL
with a clear CO2 footprint
with a clear CO2 footprint
STOOX PCF-Steel from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner is more than just a product – it is a TÜV-validated promise for a more sustainable future in construction.
The objective assessment of the environmental impact of building materials and products through life cycle analysis is crucial for achieving CO2 targets in the construction sector as part of the European Green Deal. A significant potential for CO2 reduction in a construction project lies in the choice of materials during structural design.
With STOOX PCF Steel, digital production technologies for batch tracking and the TÜV-validated calculation method enable precise proof of the PCF of the reinforcing steel to be determined. This knowledge makes it possible to document the specific CO2 footprint of the reinforcing steel for the subsequent CO2 balancing of construction projects.’
Sustainable reinforcement steel with a clear CO2 footprint (PCF) without a defined limit in kg CO2e/ton. The PCF is determined as an average across the product mix based on the EPD of the supply plants (A1-A3) – system boundary “Cradle to Exit Gate of the supply plant.” Continuous monitoring and documentation throughout the production process. Proof of project-specific PCF provided upon project completion, calculated using a TÜV-validated method.
Sustainable reinforcement steel with a clear CO2 footprint (PCF) with a defined limit of < XXX kg CO2e/ton.
The PCF is determined as an average across the product mix based on the EPD of the supply plants (A1-A3), with the possibility to extend the system boundary to “Cradle to Entry Gate of the construction site.” Continuous monitoring and documentation throughout the production process. Proof of project-specific PCF provided upon project completion, calculated using a TÜV-validated method.

SÜLZLE Stahlpartner is setting new standards in the sustainable construction industry by supplying CO2-reduced reinforcement steel for the major project of HOCHBAHN U5 Projekt GmbH. On behalf of the ARGE U5 consortium, consisting of Ed. Züblin AG and Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG, the company is delivering steel with a CO2 footprint of less than 400 kg CO2e per ton, significantly surpassing the original target of < 500 kg CO2e per ton of steel a full year ahead of schedule.
STOOX PCF Steel enables architects, investors, structural engineers and building owners to contribute to the carbon reduction of construction projects right from the early planning phase. Thanks to digital batch tracking in production and the TÜV-validated calculation method, the product carbon footprint of the reinforcing steel can be precisely verified.
STOOX enables customers to effectively integrate sustainability into their construction projects:
– Solution-oriented consulting in the early planning phase
– Technical support during the planning and implementation phases
– Clearly defined CO₂ footprint across the supply chain
– TÜV-validated documentation of the process
– Consideration of the LESS standard
– Clear PCF limits available upon request
