Wire rod

Wire rods in ring shapes or rods cut-to-length at the factory of steel grade B500A (material 1.0438) in accordance with DIN 488-1:2009-08, regulated by DIN 488-3:2009-08 with smooth (B500A+G) or finned/profiled (B500A+P) surface. Wire rods are produced in a cold-rolling process and have a virtually round cross-section. They can be profiled with both high or deep ribbing.

As the profiling of the wire rods is flatter/lower than that of concrete reinforcement steel, wire rods must not be used in cast-in-situ concrete construction or rebar fab shops for reinforcement purposes in accordance with DIN 1045.
