N-mats are non-static reinforcement mats produced industrially in factories monitored for quality. These reinforcement mats also consist of woven longitudinal and transverse rods connected by means of resistance spot welding where they cross. The longitudinal and transverse rods, which can be considered the wire rods, are produced in a cold-rolling process and feature a smooth surface.

As the nominal diameter of the rods is under the regulation of DIN 488-1:2009-08, these are not standardised concrete reinforcement steel mats, meaning they may only be used in non-static applications. They are used, for example, in screed or landscaping.
