Reinforcing wire according to DIN 488

Reinforcing wire in coils or factory-cut bars of steel grade B500A (material 1.0438) according to DIN 488-1:2009-08, regulated according to DIN 488-3:2009-08 with smooth (B500A+G) or ribbed/profiled (B500A+P) surface.

Reinforcing wire is manufactured using the cold forming process and has an almost circular cross-section. The profiling can be designed as a high or low rib. As the profiling of the reinforcing wire is flatter/lower than that of the reinforcing steel, reinforcing wire may not be used for reinforcement purposes in accordance with DIN 1045 in in-situ concrete construction or in precast plants.
