TU Munich: Pavilions

The SÜLZLE steel partner Munich location sponsors “green steel” for the young design team of the Technical University of Munich to support the scientific objective of the “Baubotanical Pavilion” of the Technical University. The structure of living trees on an elliptical floor plan supports a steel truss that grows together with the living construction. Over the years, when the overall construction has become more stable due to growth, metal shingles are added as sun and weather protection. Projects like these are intended to provide new impetus for greener cities, and technical elements such as steel or glass complement the tree constructions. Unfortunately, the general conditions do not allow on-site assembly with the students at the moment, but alternatives are still being sought.
