Repowering of the Kutenholz wind farm:

As part of a repowering project, Enaco, the owner of the Kutenholz wind farm in Lower Saxony, is replacing existing turbines with a new generation of wind turbines. MFB Bauunternehmen GmbH & Co. KG has been commissioned to carry out the construction work. Twenty older wind turbines on the existing site are being dismantled and replaced by 13 new turbines.

The new E-175 EP5 E2 wind turbines, manufactured by Enercon, have a hub height of 162 metres and a rotor diameter of 175 metres. With a rated output of 7 megawatts each, the turbines achieve a total output of 91 megawatts. This makes this turbine model one of the most powerful and highest-yielding onshore wind turbines currently in operation in Europe. The project is one of the first wind farms in Germany to utilise this model.

For the foundation work, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner Lübeck and Seelze supplied a total of around 1,306 tonnes of reinforcing steel, as well as approximately 7 tonnes of steel mesh. Deliveries took place between February and June 2026.

The wind farm is scheduled to come on stream in the fourth quarter of 2026. By repowering the existing turbines, a significantly higher total output can be achieved with fewer wind turbines. This will increase the efficiency of electricity generation at the site.
