Kyritz
An impressive structure is currently under construction in Kyritz: the new silo for Emsland-Stärke GmbH boasts an internal diameter of 50 metres, a filling height of 29.40 metres and a volume of 57,200 m³. With a total height of 42 metres, it will form the centrepiece of the modern starch factory in Kyritz.
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner from Dessau-Roßlau reliably supplied a total of 800 tonnes of steel bars for the new silo construction on behalf of the construction company Anton Meyer GmbH & Co. KG from Neuenhaus. Around 2,000 m³ of concrete and 400 tonnes of steel bars were used for the 80 cm thick base slab – the concreting was completed in just 15 hours. The imposing silo wall, around 37 metres high and 35 cm thick, was erected in 11 days and nights using a further 2,050 m³ of concrete and 400 tonnes of steel bars.
Emsland-Stärke GmbH processes around 250,000 tonnes of potatoes annually at its Kyritz site into high-quality products such as starch, fibres and proteins for the food and construction industries. With the new building, the company is consistently investing in modern plant technology and sustainable processing in order to meet the growing demand for specialised plant products.
