SÜLZLE Stahlpartner supports A81 expansion

SÜLZLE Stahlpartner from Dußlingen will provide around 16,000 tonnes of reinforcing steel from December 2023 to mid-2027. The steel is being used on behalf of the A81 consortium (Wayss & Freytag, Hochtief, STORZ) for the six-lane expansion of the section between Sindelfingen-Ost and Böblingen-Hulb.

The project planned by DEGES (Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH) promises to eliminate an existing bottleneck, improve the performance of the busy route and optimise noise protection for local residents.

The extension of the A81 includes in particular the construction of a tunnel with aprons. This will be constructed as an 850 metre long noise protection cover near Böblingen and Sindelfingen. The entire project is scheduled for completion and opening to traffic in 2027.
