SÜLZLE Stahlpartner publishes EPD and product passport for reinforcing steel
SÜLZLE Stahlpartner now has two new certifications for tenders for processed reinforcing steel that specify environmental requirements.
The EPD confirms that SÜLZLE Stahlpartner’s processed reinforcing steel has a carbon footprint that is significantly below the industry average. Together with the SHI product passport, it facilitates the supply of sustainable construction projects and supports building certification. Whether bars, rings or mats – SÜLZLE Stahlpartner provides the necessary environmental certificates, which benefit builders, planners and contractors alike.
Details on the EPD and product passport can be found here:
EPD = Environmental Product Declaration
The Environmental Product Declaration provides uniform transparency regarding the environmental impact of construction products. It is based on standards ISO 14025:2006 and EN 15804:2012+A2:2019. The life cycle assessment covers raw material extraction, steel production, transport, processing in the bending shop, dismantling and recycling. The reinforcing steel from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner scores highly thanks to a high recycling rate in the material mix. This results in a global warming potential (GWP) of 531 kg CO2e/tonne of reinforcing steel (A1 – A3). This is a very competitive value, which is significantly below the industry average (cf. Ökobaudat: 642 kg CO2e/tonne).
Here you can find the EPD for processed reinforcing steel from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner.
Sentinel Holding Product Passport
The SHI Product Passport is proof that products have been tested for harmful substances and are suitable for building certifications such as DGNB, QNG and BNB. This document gives you confidence in the product quality of SÜLZLE reinforcing steel solutions.
Here you will find the SHI product passport for processed reinforcing steel from SÜLZLE Stahlpartner.
Publication in the DGNB Navigator makes the certificates easily accessible to builders, structural engineers, architects, investors and construction companies.
Product Carbon Footprint
On request, STOOX can also be used to declare a project-specific Product Carbon Footprint (PCF). This means that even lower CO2 limits can be guaranteed through individual material selection. In addition, material tracking during the bending process enables proof of delivery from the factory. Further information can be found here.
