Reinforcing steel for forward-looking new builds
With the demolition of the high-rise in 2025, a landmark that has defined Rottweil’s skyline for decades will disappear. At the same time, space will be created for something new: the new district administration building – a modern, energy-efficient structure built using an innovative timber-hybrid construction method. SÜLZLE Stahlpartner is supplying around 800 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 40 tonnes of mesh from Rosenfeld for this project on behalf of Gebr. Stumpp Bauunternehmung from Rottweil. By the end of 2026, the steel will have been incorporated into the foundations, floors and load-bearing components.
With its timber façade, open floor plans and light-filled rooms, the architecture of the new district administration building sends a strong signal of transparency and a modern working culture. In terms of energy efficiency, the building also points towards the future: heat pumps, photovoltaics and ice storage technology are set to significantly reduce energy consumption in line with the KfW 40 standard, with the aim of achieving DGNB Gold certification. The three-zone concept combines security and data protection with proximity to the public. On the ground floor, service-oriented areas facilitate direct contact, whilst the upper floors provide modern workspaces for the administration. Completion is scheduled for late 2027 or early 2028.
