SÜLZLE bored pile cages for Germany’s highest wooden house

28.04.2021

Germany’s highest wooden building is currently under construction in Hamburg’s HafenCity. When completed, the 65-meter-high “ROOTS” will have 18 stories and house 181 apartments as well as the German Wildlife Foundation with an exhibition center on nature conservation and wildlife.
To ensure that the sustainable tower construction also sets new standards in terms of stability and fire protection, the ground floor, basement and access cores are made of concrete and steel. For the deep foundation of the concrete footings, SÜLZLE Stahlpartner was contracted by ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau GmbH to supply 170 tons of bored pile cages up to 20 meters long.

It is good to know that SÜLZLE quality ensures a firm hold in the Nordic harbor sand. The unique “ROOTS” high-rise building is expected to be completed in 2023.
