Beams and steel plates for a challenging city centre project

Right in the heart of Stuttgart, the PATIO Stuttgart project is currently taking shape – a high-quality new development by DIBAG Industriebau AG, characterised by striking architecture and complex structural requirements. For the civil engineering works, SÜLZLE Nutzeisen has been supplying, on behalf of PST Spezialtiefbau Süd GmbH, around 43.5 tonnes of HEB and double-U beams as well as 4 tonnes of sheet metal since the end of 2025. A further 29 tonnes of bracing beams and pipes have already been ordered, and some of these have already been delivered.

The new-build project comprises a total of around 7,000 square metres of lettable space – of which approximately 2,300 square metres is retail space and 4,800 square metres is office space. The building is characterised by its internal patios, which provide natural lighting, as well as its green roof terraces. Thalia will take over the entire retail space along Königstraße and Schulstraße, where it is setting up a new flagship store with a café and event area. The opening is planned for winter 2027/28. The client is also aiming for DGNB Gold certification.

The city-centre location posed particular challenges in terms of planning and logistics. Deliveries via the narrow Stiftstraße required precise coordination and punctual processes, which were successfully implemented through joint efforts. The project highlights the excellent collaboration with PST Spezialtiefbau Süd GmbH. Meanwhile, the first deliveries for the construction project from SÜLZLE Nutzeisen are now being made directly to Wolff & Müller, the parent company of PST.
